The concept of sustainability, being the execution of actions and activities in a way that is responsible and respectful toward the environment, has been embedded in MAPFRE’s values since its creation.
Everyone who is a part of the MAPFRE management structure at any level plays a role in this contribution to sustainability through the exercising of a sense of responsibility and ethics that includes an unwavering commitment to pollution prevention and environmental conservation.
This commitment manifests itself in MAPFRE’s Environmental Policy, which encapsulates three basic tenets: the integration of the environment into the business, environmental management, and the promotion of environmental responsibility.
Environmental management is executed and monitored via the Integrated Environmental and Energy Management System, the corporate framework MAPFRE designed to minimize the negative impact the Group’s commercial activities might have on the environment, and to ensure coherent and adequate energy consumption requirement management across the full range of these activities.
