“Inclusion and diversity make us more competitive and innovative”
We are proud to present our fourth edition of the Conversations on Sustainability, which explains why adding all kinds of talents and capacities brings us tremendous value. Just another example of how we are #PlayingOurPart.
In this fourth edition of Conversations on Sustainability, Anastasia de las Peñas, corporate director of Employee Experience at MAPFRE, and Luis Cayo, president of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (CERMI) discuss the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion, which play a key role in helping companies to attract and retain talent, motivate and enhance the creativity of their teams and meet their objectives more efficiently.
Anastasia de las Peñas: “It’s not just a human rights issue, because it also makes us more competitive and innovative, enabling us to take advantage of everyone’s talent.”
At MAPFRE, we know it’s win-win when we talk about boosting inclusion and respect for diversity. “It’s not only a human rights issue, because we have seen that it also makes us more competitive and innovative, enabling us to take advantage of everyone’s talent. Our employees are also more productive when they perceive that they work in an organization that offers equal opportunities.”
A firm conviction
This is a firm, strategic, across-the-board commitment that has become as significant an asset as any other business indicator. Among our key commitments in this area are filling 45% of vacant management positions with women by the end of 2021 and for 3% of our global workforce to be persons with disabilities by then.
