Giving part of ourselves helps create a better world
It’s the desire to help others that drives people to dedicate their time and effort to volunteering. We share this spirit of solidarity at MAPFRE, where we have a corporate volunteering program that’s been rolled out in 25 countries through Fundación MAPFRE, the main objective of which is to help improve social well-being.
At MAPFRE, we don’t understand our business activity without making a conscious effort in parallel to make the world around us a little more sustainable and a little more caring. MAPFRE’s purpose is distilled in the phrase “We care about what matters to you” and our volunteering effort is reflected in this, as it demonstrates our commitment to people and our dedication to creating a better world to live in, day after day.
Employees all over the world have the opportunity to collaborate with different projects related to education, nutrition, health and the environment, among others. We make all our talent available to those who need it most, thereby reinforcing the company’s values by strengthening a participatory culture and raising awareness of the social needs of the most vulnerable people around us.

In the first nine months of 2024, nearly 7,000 people, including employees and their families, participated in one of the 1,658 activities that were carried out, which benefited more than 100,000 people through different social projects, educational support, support for the elderly and workplace integration for people with a disability, as well as other environmental projects aimed at reforestation and cleaning up beaches.
Volunteering activities help employees channel their spirit of solidarity and hone skills that can be transferred to their personal and professional lives. As for MAPFRE, volunteering helps boost a company’s image and increases the pride people feel in belonging to an organization, which in turn elevates the commitment of employees and other stakeholders. When it comes to not-for-profit organizations, volunteering gets more hands on deck and ensures greater awareness and appreciation of its activity, increasing the number of people who get involved in social causes.
MAPFRE employees get tremendous satisfaction out of being part of the volunteering program. They say it improves the work environment, they feel part of a shared objective, and this helps them to see the world from another point of view, raising awareness. They agree that companies can’t grow in isolation from society or by being removed from the context they operate in.
