Fundación MAPFRE has increased the donations it has already promised to the Dominican Republic by delivering medical supplies to protect the health of medical and nursing personnel in the country’s hospitals under the highest demand.

This aid in the fight against COVID-19, valued at almost 75,000 euros, consists of 250,000 pairs of gloves, 62,000 surgical masks and 5,315 biosafety glasses, which the Ministry of Public Health will distribute among the National Health System centers that need it.

Zaida Gabas de Requena, Fundación MAPFRE’s representative in the Dominican Republic, said that “this is one way of supporting healthcare personnel swamped with beating the effects of coronavirus so that they can tackle the disease with the lowest risk of infection. We appreciate this invaluable delivery and appreciate its commitment.”

The donation was received by the Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, who thanked the company for the support provided since the pandemic began.

This initiative is part of a global plan amounting to 35 million euros in donations that Fundación MAPFRE has dedicated around the world with the aim of helping the most disadvantaged groups and contributing to coming out of this crisis with the least impact possible.
Aid to the Dominican Republic exceeds 540,000 euros.
