As part of the global donations plan in the fight against COVID-19, Fundación MAPFRE has continued to increase its support to Ecuador. In particular, organizations such as the Instituto de Parálisis Cerebral del Azuay (IPCA), the Fundación para el Bienestar del Anciano Cristo Rey, the Docente de Ambato Hospital, CESAL-SEMBRAR, the Fire Department of Quito and the Ministry of Health have received gloves, masks, hats, biosafety suits and ozone generators.

Since the start of the pandemic, the company earmarked more than 250,000 euros to respond to the coronavirus. Ecuador was the first country in Latin America to receive units of The Open Ventilator prototype, as well as test kits for the disease.

The donation included other contributions to the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, the Fundación Karla Morales, the Fire Department of Guayaquil and the Ecuadorian Navy to purchase medical supplies and disinfection equipment.
