Eduardo Pérez de Lema assumes direct supervision of the LATAM South-Center Regional Area

Eduardo Pérez de Lema, current CEO of MAPFRE’s International Insurance unit, will incorporate direct supervision of the LATAM South-Center Regional Area into his responsibilities, functions currently performed by Renzo Calda as CEO of that region. Calda is stepping down from his executive role but will continue his association with the company in his capacity as non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors of MAPFRE Peru, a function he currently performs.

Javier Moreno joins the EMEA Regional Area as Regional CEO, taking on functions that currently correspond to Eduardo Pérez de Lema.

Javier Moreno is currently country manager and CEO of MAPFRE MIDDLESEA, the group’s subsidiary in Malta. From January 1, he will be replaced by Etienne Sciberras, current CEO of the life subsidiary in the country, MSV LIFE. His current responsibilities in this company will be assumed by new CEO by Elvira López de Lara, currently group head of Distribution Channels in the Corporate Business Area. These appointments in Malta are subject to ratification by local governing bodies and subsequent approval by the Supervisor.

Other corporate appointments

MAPFRE’s Executive Committee has also approved proposing to the Board of Directors of MAPFRE Inversión the appointment of Fernando López López as general manager of this Group financial company. López will replace Miguel Ángel Segura, who is retiring. This appointment will take effect on April 1, 2025.

In Mexico, Ricardo Madrid has been appointed general manager of INSIGNIA LIFE, the life insurance company that the Group recently acquired. This change has already taken place.
